Description
In my artwork titled “Something in the Sky – Abstract Graphic”, I’ve created a visually dynamic composition using a predominantly blue-grey and yellow colour scheme, accented with touches of orange and red. The grey-blue hues in the upper part of the abstract graphic are layered with varied shapes and forms, building the impression of a storm-like sky. These layers create a strong sense of depth and movement, suggesting that there is something in the sky that is both significant and mysterious.
For the land below, I chose a vibrant yellow as the dominant colour, layering it with different opacities of Payne’s grey to introduce a green tone to the right side of the abstract graphic. This technique brings texture and depth to the work, echoing the natural character of a highveld grassland.
Through the use of opacity and layering, “Something in the Sky – Abstract Graphic” captures the essence of the highveld landscape with its flowing grasses. The contrast between the stormy, dynamic sky and the calmer, textured grassland below invites viewers to reflect on the relationship between these elements, while evoking the mystery, tension, and beauty of nature.
